Book: The Bridegroom's Bargain

I was indulging myself into laziness when I found this book after having read the synopsis and the review. This was the first English and Historical romance I read moreover I was also captivated by the cover and the title where you could see a young beautiful bride carrying a gun behind a gorgeous groom.

Recently bereaved by her brother and father, Alexandra Rawdon or Lexi fulfilled her promise to marry Richard Deverell, a childhood friend of her and his brother. On the wedding day, when it's supposed to be the supreme bliss for everyone attending the wedding rite, Lexi took out a gun and pointed it at Richard accusing that Richard had murdered her brother. Astounded by her accusation, Richard defended himself and promised to discover the real murder therefore their adventure began.

To be frank, I was not fond of reading novel especially the historical one, assuming that it had lots of chapters and the story might be too long due to its proper manner and language so on and so forth, instead I did enjoy this book very much. The hero, Richard had great patience dealing with Lexi who was so persistent and gullible and also so protective and affectionate towards Lexi especially when he figured out who the traitor was.

Well, I had no any objections regarding this book, everything was fine and well-written. The story seemed fairly predictable, it might have occurred because I had read a large number of complex mystery prior to this. This book deserves to be rated 4, the characters and the writing were utterly compelling. I hope every reader whom has read this agrees.
